The Power of Radio

Before TV there was Radio, radio is one of the first forms of communication that was used back then. What you now see on TV use to be on the radio your soapies, your drama, your ads. With the introduction of TV we saw a fall on the value of radio that is when the top40 format was introduced on the radio.


Why I love radio? It allows you to think, to create your own imagination about what you hear on the radio, unlike TV where everything is provided for you. Which makes most people lazy( couch potatoes ). Not that I have anything against TV, because also radio has got its own disadvantages but I’ve got passion for radio, I love it.

Most people in rural areas still use radio, though they have electricity. Radio can relate to people in so many ways. You get your sport; weather, business and your breaking news while you on your way to work. There are also people who still haven’t got electricity and still depend on the radio for information, entertainment and education.

We need not forget about these people as they are using radio to connect with the rest of the world, people in rural areas have so many stories to tell I want to go there and work on those untold stories. Give them more info about social issues such as hiv/aids, crime and many other social issues which they relate to.
